The procedure usually
takes approximately 45 minutes. Test time may vary due to specific
physician requests.
After you are in the ultrasound examination room, you will be asked to
change into a gown and provide us with a brief history.
You will then be placed on a stretcher. In order to obtain quality
images, we will need to place a water-based gel on your abdomen. A
plastic device called a transducer will be placed over the abdominal
area and moved back and forth to obtain the images necessary to answer
your physician's questions.
